Talking birds are some of the most interesting types of pet bird to own. Training a bird to talk can achieve some pretty amazing results: they can mimic human A Parrot Showing Off His Talking Skillsvoices and sounds, such as car horns, telephones, and even musical notes. It is always entertaining to hear a bird unexpectedly say different phrases, such as, “I reckon I like the way you talk.” When guests visit your home, they will get quite a surprise!

When looking to buy a talking bird, try to get a pet bird that is young and captive-bred. These tend to be not only great pets but have the best ability for an advanced vocabulary.

When deciding on the type of talking bird you want, be sure to check out the African Grey. It is well known for being the best of the best. Other popular birds that make excellent pets include: Amazon Parrots (Yellow-Naped, Double Yellow Head, and Blue Front) Quaker Parrot, and the Mynah Bird. Training other birds, like a Macaw, is also possible.

No matter which pet bird you decide, all talking birds are very colorful, entertaining and make wonderful additions to your home. Best of luck in your search!
